Welcome to Isabel's Retreat

Isabel’s Retreat is a vision that has been close to our hearts for many years. In 2023, thanks to the generous support of the Roger Raymond Charitable Trust, that dream became a reality. Today, we are honoured to offer families whose children have life-limiting or terminal illnesses — and bereaved parents who need time, space and gentleness — the chance to enjoy a peaceful, restorative holiday at no cost.

Nestled within Hoburne Holiday Park in Mudeford, Dorset and just a short stroll from the beach, the retreat provides a calm and comforting escape. It’s a place to rest, reconnect, and simply be together, away from hospital walls and daily pressures.

To help us continue providing these special stays, the retreat is available for private hire for a small number of weeks each year — supporting our running costs and ensuring we can keep welcoming families who need it most.

What is Isabel's Retreat?

Isabel’s Retreat is our peaceful holiday home on the Dorset coast, created in loving memory of Isabel to give families time, space, and moments of joy during the most difficult chapters of childhood cancer — and beyond.

We know how heavy hospital life can be: the appointments, the uncertainty, the constant pressure to stay strong. We also know that bereaved parents often need somewhere gentle to land, where they can breathe, remember, and simply be. Isabel’s Retreat was created for these families — to offer a break from hospital walls, a chance to make memories by the sea, and a place where life can feel a little lighter, even if just for a few days.

The retreat is a beautifully presented two-bedroom holiday home, sleeping up to six guests. With a master bedroom and en-suite, a twin room, a main bathroom, and a comfortable lounge with a sofa bed, it has everything families need for a restful stay. The open-plan kitchen and dining area includes a washing machine and dishwasher, and outside, the wrap-around decking and ramp make the space accessible and easy to enjoy.

But more than anything, Isabel’s Retreat is about giving families the gift of time — time to rest, reconnect, play, and make memories that last forever
