The Holding Space

Support for parents of children with cancer

A gentle place to land

The Holding Space is a safe, welcoming community for parents of children with cancer. Created by Vicky (The Isabel Baker Foundation) and Kate of Meredith’s Mission. We know how isolating this journey can feel. Here, you’ll find connection, compassion, and practical support with people who truly understand.

What you’ll find here

  • Connection & community: Meet other parents who “get it” online and in person.

  • Calm & care: Quiet, judgement-free spaces to talk, listen, cry, or simply sit with a cuppa.

  • Regular meet-ups: Coffee mornings, wellbeing sessions and gentle group activities.

  • Practical support: Signposting, resources, and shared experience.

Upcoming gatherings

We’ll share all dates inside the Holding Space and on this page.

  • Coffee Mornings (Poole, Dorset): informal drop-ins for conversation and connection.

  • Sauna Sessions: small, supportive groups focused on relaxation and nervous system care.

  • Sound Baths: rest, reset and restore together.

  • Group TRE (Tension & Trauma Release): guided sessions to support the body through stress and overwhelm.
